The Induction Service of the Rt. Reverend Daniel K. Tannor as the Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, took place on Sunday 15th October 2017 at the Wesley Cathedral, Sunyani. The Officiants were the Most Rev. Titus K. Awotwi Pratt (Presiding Bishop), Brother Bernard Clement K. Botwe (Lay President) and the Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo (Administrative Bishop).
Present at the induction service were General Directors, Directors of various Directorates, Diocesan Bishops, Diocesan Lay Chairmen, Ministers and their Spouses, Invited guests, family and friends. The beautiful occasion was covered by the Methodist Media Team and other media houses across the country. Reporters and journalists also took coverage of the service. A brief profile of the Bishop was read to the congregation. He candidated for the Ministry in 1987. In 2002, he was permitted to study at the Queen’s University of Belfast in Ireland where he was awarded Master of Philosophy. He lectured in Church History, Christian Leadership and Homiletic from 2004 to 2010. H was the Examiner Officer for the Theology Department from 2007 to 2010. He is a writer, Facilitator, Examiner and Synod Secretary of the Diocese from 2013- 2017. He has attended many short courses and gained immense knowledge towards the Kingdom business. In 2011, he published his book “The Lukan Jesus”. Bishop Daniel Tannor is married to Mrs. Alice Tannor and are blessed with four wonderful children.
The Presiding Bishop admonished the new Bishop to:
- Be a representative of God in the Diocese
- Serve the People
- Teach the word of God soundly
- Train and teach the congregation
- Work to please only the Master who has called you to service
- Be a worthy example to all
